Matt’s Device Repair

Help Center

Answers about requests, approvals, your repair, and your account.

Getting started

Which devices can I request a repair for?

Our normal repair scope is PlayStation consoles, Xbox consoles, console controllers, and desktop PCs, subject to current availability below. Desktop PC motherboard component-level repair is not offered. Phones, tablets, laptops, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck and other handhelds are not normal repair services.

Currently available for requests

The list below follows the same availability settings as the repair request form. Case-by-case requests require individual review.

  • PlayStation console — Normally supported
  • Xbox console — Normally supported
  • Console controller — Normally supported
  • Desktop PC — subject to review

Start a repair request

How do I start a repair?

Use Request Repair to describe the device and symptoms. New customers create account access during the request; existing customers can sign in first. Staff review the request and may ask for more information. Submitting a request does not authorize repair work.

Estimates, diagnosis & quotes

Is a preliminary estimate an approved repair quote?

No. A preliminary estimate is a non-binding price range before diagnosis. Diagnosis identifies the actual fault. A repair quote describes the proposed scope and price. Accepting that quote is the customer’s authorization for the stated work; an estimate alone is not authorization.

How do I accept or decline a quote?

Sign in, open the quote from your dashboard or repair, and review the scope, notes and total. Use the available Accept or Decline action. If the quote is no longer available for a decision, message the repair team. Ask about anything unclear before accepting.

Customer portal

What if the problem or repair scope changes?

If diagnosis reveals a materially different problem or additional paid work is needed, the revised scope and price need your approval before that additional work proceeds. Review the current quote and messages in your portal. Earlier approval is not blanket permission for extra work.

Timing, handoff & return

How long does a repair take?

Standard repairs are generally around 1–3 days, not a guaranteed deadline. New requests may require several days before scheduling; estimated turnaround begins after acceptance and receipt of the device. Complex board-level or no-power diagnostics, parts availability and device condition can take longer. Check your repair for the next step.

Where do I drop off or mail my device?

This is a local/mobile repair business with no normal retail storefront. Arrange a meetup, handoff or mail-in with the repair team before travelling or shipping. When the portal offers handoff preferences, submit your location option and availability; staff still need to confirm the arrangement. Do not ship to an unconfirmed address.

Message the repair team

How do pickup and return work?

Your repair page shows the current status and customer-visible instructions, including pickup or return information when recorded. Wait for confirmation of the arrangement and review your invoice. Message the repair team if the next step is unclear.

Payments & your repair

Where are my repair documents?

Open Documents in your portal to find available preliminary estimates, quotes, issued invoices, payment records, final reports and completed-repair summaries grouped by repair. Filter by type or ticket, then view or print an available document. Documents reflect saved records and do not change payment status. Your completed intake condition summary is available separately from your repair when recorded. Staff Notes, internal QA, supplier records, internal knowledge and operational costs are not customer documents.

Documents

Are discounts or eligibility programs available?

The Discounts area shows programs that are currently enabled for customers and your recorded eligibility state. Follow the terms shown there or ask staff; no percentage or automatic eligibility is promised here. Online verification is available only if a provider is configured and the page offers it. Do not send ID images, passwords or verification codes in messages. Eligibility alone does not apply a discount: review the actual quote and invoice.

Discounts

How do I pay an invoice?

Open an issued invoice in your portal to review its total, amount paid and balance. Use Pay Invoice when it is offered to open the configured hosted checkout. Available payment options are those shown there. If checkout is unavailable, contact the repair team. A return from checkout can remain processing until payment is confirmed; check the invoice status before trying again.

Customer portal

Where can I find status, history and messages?

Your dashboard separates Active Repairs from Repair History. Open a repair for its status, next step, customer-visible timeline, quotes, invoices and final report when available. Use Messages for questions and replies. Account notification preferences do not replace checking the portal.

Cleaning & post-repair issues

What cleaning is included?

Console repairs that require opening include basic internal cleaning: loose dust and debris, accessible dirt and a wipe-down. Paste-based consoles include appropriate thermal-paste replacement when accessible. PS5 basic cleaning does not automatically include liquid-metal replacement. PS5 Deep Cleaning includes liquid-metal service, so these should not be charged twice. Confirm the exact maintenance scope in your quote; no fixed maintenance price is promised here.

What should I do if I have a problem after repair?

Open Post-repair Issues from your portal to report a problem with an eligible completed repair. Describe the symptoms and when they started; staff review the report and any applicable coverage. You can also message the repair team. Feedback is separate from submitting a claim. Reporting an issue does not automatically establish coverage, admit fault, or promise a refund, replacement or free repair.

Post-Repair Issues

What information should I share?

Describe the device and symptoms in the request or portal messages. Do not send account passwords, verification codes or recovery codes. Back up important device data when possible; data recovery is not guaranteed. Use the portal for repair-specific questions.

Selling & referrals

Can I sell a broken device?

Sell Your Device is a separate, manually reviewed acquisition process. Sign in to submit the device’s condition, known faults and ownership details. An offer is not guaranteed. The sale form may include phones or tablets even though they are not normal repair services. Review any offer and its handoff details before deciding.

Sell Your Device

How do referrals or rewards work?

The Referrals area in your account shows your referral information and any recorded reward. Staff review eligibility and record rewards manually. A referral is not an automatic discount; confirm any available reward before assuming it will change a quote or invoice. No general discount percentage is promised here.

Account & app help

How do I sign in and verify my account?

Use Customer Login with your account email and password, then follow the email verification and two-factor prompts shown. Check your inbox and spam folder for the requested email. Use the resend option when available and follow any wait message. Keep your verification and recovery codes private.

What if I forgot my password?

Choose Forgot password on the login page and enter your account email. Follow the reset email if an account matches. If the link is invalid or expired, request a new one. Follow any verification prompts after resetting; changing a password does not remove account verification.

Forgot password?

Can I change my notification preferences?

Review the preferences in Account. Routine reminders and important transactional messages serve different purposes. Saving a preference does not mean a delivery service is active or guarantee an email or text. The portal remains the place to review current repair information.

Account

Can I install the app or use it offline?

Use Install app when your browser offers it. On supported Apple devices, the browser’s Share menu offers Add to Home Screen. Live repair information and submitting forms need an internet connection. Save your work before choosing Update now; an app update can refresh the page.

Still need help?

For a new repair, start a request. For an existing repair or account question, sign in and use Messages. Your repair page shows contact options when available.
